Our desire is to have a spirit filled, multi-cultural, relational, evangelistic church that meets the needs of the urban resident. Statistics show us that church planting is the best form of reaching the lost. Not building buildings...mind you, but having a new, thriving, passionate work that equips, excites, and endorses believers to go and be salt and light in their world.
The belief that God created the heavens and the earth. Oh...and us too by the way. Everyone. We were Created in His image. We were not monkeys, nor transplanted here from a space ship, nor created in a lab by an evil scientist.
There is only one God. He has no beginning or end. He cannot be "figured out" other than to see a glimpse of His nature and plan through the Word of God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4 Isaiah 43:10 Matthew 28:19 Luke 3:22)
God breathed and inspired. Infallable and unchangeable. It is our goal to look at God's Word as an original text through Hebraic eyes. Learning is a life long pursuit.
(2 Timothy 3:15 1 Thessalonians 2:13 2 Peter 1:21)
Salvation is for everyone who receives it and is only found through the blood of Jesus and His death, burial, and ressurection from the dead. Not Mary, not a Pope, Bishop, Priest, Pastor, or Imam. Just Grace and Mercy through faith in Jesus. Not everyone will be saved, but this will be because of individual choice. There is no salvation through any other name but Jesus. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto or any other way will get you Salvation.
(Luke 24:47 John 3:3 Ephesians 2:8)
Fully man. Fully God. No beginning, No end. Alive and seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.
(Matthew 1:23 Hebrews 7:26 1 Corinthians 15:3 Philipians 2:9)
God still performs miracles. Divine healings, protection, etc.
(Matthew 8:16 John 5:14)
The Holy Spirit and Speaking in Tongues
There is being filled with the Spirit...which happens at salvation. There is also being baptized In the Spirit with the evidence of that infilling through "speaking in an unknown language" or "tongues" Christ foretold this would happen and the reason behind such a gift. Firstly to comfort us, next to empower us to be effective witnesses, and lastly, to be a sign to the world. This is a gift to all believers, but not a requirement of salvation nor is it of the devil as some still falsely teach or have in in times past.
(Luke 24:47 Acts 1:4 1 Corinthians 12:1-3)
A command of Jesus that needs to be performed when someone accepts His message.
(Matthew 28:19 Acts 10:47 Romans 6:4)
As often as you do this....remember me. Not the actual body and blood of Jesus, but rather a powerful reminder of His sacrifice, sacred in it's practice, and an ordinance of the Church.
The Second coming of Christ
He will come again to take His bride the church. No man knows the day or the hour, but as we understand it, no additional prophecy has to be fulfilled for it to happen.
Heaven and Hell
Only two choices. Not Heaven, Hell or what's behind door number three. Just two. You decide which one by your life. Once you are there, no priest nor prayer, nor money can get you out.
(Matthew 10:28 Mark 11:26)
Angels and Demons
Not to be worshipped, nor feared. Real and powerful nonetheless.
(Matthew 16:27 Matthew 25:41)
Equality in Christ
No greek, nor slave, nor free, nor jew, nor gentile. All are created as unique creatures...sons and daughters of God. There is no master race: Only the Master of this race. God accepts all cultures and ethnic groups. He's neither black nor white, nor purple. He is God.
God's Bride. It needs to be holy, diverse, and meet regularly. It goes beyond theology and doctrine....beyond color, race, economic status, or even denominations. It is the heartbeat of God. We all need to be a part of a local community of faith in order to grow, and to be like Christ.
Relationships and Community
Our key component, relational ministry, happens within the context of our homes and communities. If the only time you see someone is at church once a week, you will never have true friendship or community.
Worship and freedom
It has been said that the highest form of worship is obedience. Obedience to God brings freedom. There is also power and healing in worshipping God through praise and worship. Music opens our hearts to God's Word.
We beleive a church who is not out-wardly focused in no more than a country club. We will continue to reach out to the lost of this world at all cost by all means.
God loves missions. He loves people...every nation.... "panta te ethne'" ....every ethnic group, tribe and country. The Sudaneese, Korean, Aussie, Russian, Kurd and American, they are precious in His sight. We will sow financial seed, as well as be personally involved in missions and humanitarian effort.
Discipleship and mentoring
Ongoing growth and training for individuals and families.
Remaining active in the world's systems ( commerce, politics, society, environment, etc.)
For too long we have isolated ourselves and have not taken an interest or stand against the corruption and destruction of the world. We are called to be salt and light in a dark world but decided that we would close the door and sit on a shelf with the other spices. It is okay to be a vocal unashamed Christian in the workplace. It is crucial that we involve ourselves in political and social affairs, lest we have no representation. We must be at the forefront to help those in need and teaching them how not to be in need again. The envorinment is our issue. God gave us a mandate to oversee the planet. You do not have to be a radical "tree hugger" to make a difference. The balance to this however is we are called to pray for change, more than picket. The battle is the Lords. But He needs us to battle on our knees.
An honest attempt to do the best we possibly can with what we have in order to represent God in the best light.
Mission: Living in Freedom Together
To establish Worship, Growth, and Community in our local fellowship by building self acceptance, relationships and sense of purpose in everyone we come in contact with. Our motto is... Live life for Jesus...take someone with you on the journey.
